If you do, you will never leave those forsaken mountains.

Bandits lurk behind every hill.

The villains will take your gold, and then take your body deep into their caves where their wives will cook you for the evening stew.

Ghosts push you into deep crevasses. Will-o'-the-wisps tempt you from your trusted road.

There is no path forward. There is no path back. There are only demons.

When a young soldier is abandoned in the mountains of Spain, he finds himself at a fabled inn: the Venta Quemada. Quickly caught in a web of seduction and the supernatural, will his story be one of love or damnation?

In 1739 Spain, a young soldier travels to his first posting. When he arrives at an abandoned inn, the Venta Quemada, he encounters two beautiful princesses – or does he? Tales of this area also say that two ghouls crawl down from their gallows at midnight to terrorize travelers. You cannot trust your eyes at the Venta Quemada. And if you trust your heart, you might just lose it.

This VN is based off an 1815 novel, The Manuscript Found in Saragossa, written by Jan Potocki, a Polish count who thought he was turning into a werewolf. Seriously.

As the soldier travels, he will be told stories himself. Stories of Pacheco the Demoniac! Rebecca the Sorceress of Kabbala! The Fair Maiden of the Castle of Sombre!

Depending on the stories you choose for him, he may to go heaven, to hell, or some place in between.

Demons of the Venta Quemada follows the story of Alfonse Van Woorden with key moments where you determine the stories he hears - and how his story ends.
